Heritage Run tourism operators, Provincial and Federal government departments partnered from 1986 to 1992 under the Burin Peninsula Tourism Association. Additional partnerships grew to include Eastern NL, and St. Pierre & Miquelon tourism associations. The HRTA is run by a regional volunteer Board from tourism business, natural/cultural/heritage and development associations backgrounds. Several directors serve on other regional, eastern regional and provincial tourism boards.
